Basic Pistol Course

Basic pistol instruction focused on safety, mechanics, and familiarization with numerous different types of pistols. The majority of this course is conducted in a classroom with practical exercises. There is also a range portion for students to employ a handgun at a stationary target. The fundamentals of range and gun safety are stressed throughout the entirety of this course. You will learn the basics of cartridge and pistol mechanics and nomenclature. You will also learn how to operate both revolver and auto-pistols that includes loading, aiming, firing, unloading, and cleaning. This course takes the better part of a day and students are requested to bring eye and ear protection if they have it.

Basic Rifle Course

Basic rifle instruction focused on safety, mechanics, and familiarization with numerous different types of rifles. The majority of this course is conducted in a classroom with practical exercises. There is also a range portion for students to employ a rifle at a stationary target. The fundamentals of range and gun safety are stressed throughout the entirety of this course. You will learn the basics of how a cartridge and rifle mechanically work and the associated nomenclature of the various parts. You will also learn how to operate different types of rifles to include lever action, bolt action, and pump action that includes loading, aiming, firing, unloading, and cleaning. This course takes the better part of a day and students are requested to bring eye and ear protection if they have it.

Specialized Bear Defense

Bear Defense 201

A course to improve your ability to quickly employ a handgun to defend against a bear attack. The instruction progresses from slow fire accuracy drills to quick fire drills against a moving target, though will be adjusted as needed to meet individual ability. We will also explore methods to employ a handgun during hours of darkness. It is highly recommended that students complete the Bear Gun 101 course to ensure a familiarity of proper equipment. This is a fun and informative course that is intended to increase your abilities regardless of skill level. You will need eye and ear protection, pistol of choice, holster, and 250 rounds of ammunition. If shooting a large caliber revolver, let's discuss options to ensure the course remains enjoyable throughout the entirety of the shooting stages.

Bear Defense 101

A course to inform your understanding of the lethality of different calibers, appropriate equipment for use in the field, recommended carry techniques, and employment considerations for the purpose of defending against a bear attack, to include recommended equipment and techniques to protect yourself in the dark. This is an informative and interesting course that will benefit anyone that enjoys the outdoors in bear country. This course consists of classroom instruction that is combined with numerous instructor performed range demonstrations and is about five hours in duration. It is applicable to all experience levels. Simply bring ear and eye protection if you have it.

Tactical Shooting

Customized pistol or rifle instruction focused on tactical shooting that includes rapid target engagement, clearing malfunctions, magazine changes, and target transition. This instruction is not in a set format but can instead be scheduled and tailored according to individual preference and desire.
